Trick to removing the MSD dist cover?

Is there a trick to removing the cover that goes overtop of the plug wires on the distributor that says the words MSD on it. I removed the two screws but its seems to not want to pop over the plug wires.

Isn't there two long snaps that lock down on the dist cover? HEI dist?

Yes HEI but this is above that...plug wires are attached to the distributor cover but then on top of the plug wires on the distributer there is a cosmetic cover that says MSD on it. That is what I cant get off.

If it's the wire hold down type, the wire ends are made with a kinda nipple on them that pop through the holes. You have to work them free or just pop all the wires off the cap so you can push them out of the hold down.

Oh, if it's an HEI did you unplug the BATT and TACH connectors out on the "nose"?
