Re: The most simple Oil thread ever.

Three SBC's, all flat tappet cams, all with Valvoline VR1.

And every time I buy VR1 I check the bottle and I check the web to ensure it's still has enough ZDDP.

Re: The most simple Oil thread ever.

We, here at home, have a few cars. The ones that are stock (small block chevy and Pontiac v8) we run Rotella 15w40. We have a car that has a XE268 flat tappet cam. In that one, we run Brad Penn 15w40.

Re: The most simple Oil thread ever.

Rotella T6 5W-40 synthetic
400 SBC hyd roller
327 solid flat tappet (sold this year)
LS1 hyd roller (sold this year)

T6 analysis fresh out of the bottle below. Just switched the 400 to it last oil change so will have it analyzed after about two more tanks of gas to see how wear metals compared to the previous ones with the Summit/Spectro 10W-40 conventional and semi-synthetics with 1800ppm zinc (which were great).
