Holley intake question

I am a fan of the Holley 300-36 and have it on 2 cars. I was at a swap meet recently and saw a Holley Contender Intake Manifold 701R-36 that looked very similar to my Street Dominator 300-36.

Are these intakes identical just from different eras in Holleys production or are there more differences that can be seen by the naked eye?

Wink Re: Holley intake question

I'm sure they are nearly the same, maybe minor changes/improvement(s), from my casual observations of them over the years - but I can't say "identical".
The 700-series were earlier and I've even seen a few that had '300-36' cast into the base right under/next(?) to the '700' number ...

They are loose copies of GM's (and other's) "Z" type square-base (Holley) intakes that got good reviews over the years.
If the price was right for it's condition I wouldn't have hesitated buying it.

If a man says something in the garage - and his wife can't hear him - is he still wrong !!!
