Are these heads any goord for a mild 350 build?

Casting number is 14102193.

They are "vortec" heads...just not familiar with Vortecs in general--I've heard much about how good Vortecs are in general, but not sure which castings are useable for some performance gains.

Those are '87 + 'swirl port' TBI truck heads, and not really a good performance head. They do not flow well. Google "chevy 14102193" and you'll read plenty of negatives.

No they are not "vortec" heads. Vortec heads are either the -062 or -906 castings and have a 'heart-shaped' combustion chamber with raised intake runners. Find them on '96-99 tahoe, suburban, yukon, or trucks.
