Power steering pump leaking

I'm now on my third power steering pump from Autozone. I've replaced all lines, made sure nothing was cross threaded and everyone of those damn things has leaked. Am I just experiencing a problems with refurbed items? Can someone recommend a different company/place I can purchase another pump? Thanks.

1967 Camaro Convertible with a 327, TH350transmission, Edelbrock 1406 600cfm carb, Edelbrock 1721 fuel pump & 2701 intake.

Google is your friend. There's tons of company's that can rebuild your original pump. Lee's, Lares, AGR are national names mentioned here. Look in your yellow pages. There's ton's of shops that repair and rebuild steering components. Here in Detroit, I use Done Right. I always have my original stuff rebuilt when I can instead of buying Cardone rebuilt junk.

Dean - Were all three leaking at the same point?

Re: Power steering pump leaking

If they leak at the threads then use liquid teflon thread sealer. Most likely leaking at the high pressure hose.

Re: Power steering pump leaking

Thanks for the replies. Did not even think about using Teflon tape. Gonna do that this winter.

Re: Power steering pump leaking

Curious, is there a reason why use liquid and not tape?
