After you put the throttle solenoid through the throttle arm you attach it with the solenoid clip.

How exactly does that clip attach? Does it just clip onto the rubber part of the solenoid switch, or does it slide all the way back and clamp the whole solenoid switch to the throttle arm?

Slide the clip in first, then slide the solenoid through the clip. It should be set so that it will energize when the throttle is punched full open.

BTW, the aftermarket switch I have is a little larger in diameter than the GM. I would recommend the GM, but if you have the aftermarket, you might need to enlarge the hole on the throttle arm a little. Otherwise the solenoid may explode when you try to force it through the clip. I know, because that's what happened to me. I have since tried to install a GM one, but since I filed out the hole to fit the aftermarket one, it won't stay in place.I would need to replace the arm to make the GM one work.

Thanks,

So the clip is suppose to hold the solenoid switch to the throttle arm? I assume at a position that it is activated at full throttle.

The hole in the throttle arm is plenty big for the solenoid to go through however, the clip seems to small to go over the solenoid and too small to clip into the throttle arm.

The repro clip is crappy and too small. Sorry but I do not have the answer to a better fit.
