Question

What would make an engine bank run colder than the other??
350, 9.5:1 comp., .30 over, comp cam 260-H 440 lift, can't recall duration. #442 casting heads with screw in rocker studs. Crane full roller rockers, (I had them laying around and said what the heck,) edelbrock performer with stock Q-Jet, headers with new exhaust system. No X-over pipe.

The drivers side bank, if you put your hand at the exhaust will almost burn your hand, but the pass. side blows warm to cool.
This is after the motor is warmed up & run down the hi-way a couple miles.

Engine has 120 miles on it. Both sides feel the same compression wise to the hand at exhaust tip.

Anyone know this?

Steve,
Check the carb, maybe an idle air bleed is plugged putting some raw fuel into the engine on one side.

Check my web page for First Gen Camaro suspension info:

You're doing a compression test by putting your hand over the end of the exhaust pipe? Judging exhaust temperature in the same location? I think you're about 15' too far away to do any troubleshooting. What do the headers feel like right at the exhaust port? How do the plugs look from bank to bank?

LOL Ahhhh, no. I have a tester for that. I do not have the time, nor the space, with 2' of snow at the door entrance & 3 cars allready in the shop, to do a complete troubleshoot. It hasn't stopped raining & snowing for 8 days & there's no end in sight. Sooo, I thought I'd run this by you guy's in case there is a simple or common cause that someones allready familiar with. If there is a dead cylinder, or major issue with 1 or more cylinders in 1 bank, I for 1, can tell by putting my hand at the exhaust.
That is why I make that statement. I've not had a motor in recent memory, act like this.

Hope that makes it easier for you to understand there Nova.
