Looking at C.R.G. info about engines .It shows this number for 67 396 cars. I was told that late year cars came with 3916323 casting?
I have 2nd week of July BB car. 1967 camaro.
Can someone confirm this or not??
I have a E-9-7 block date code with casting number of 3902406?

I just checked on Mortec.com and that number you have, 3902406, is a 67, 396. The other number, 3916323 is listed as a 68, 396.
Hope this helps

The 323 block was introduced late May/ early June. I had a 67 L78 camaro built 7B. The engine was castF 8 7 or June 8th 1967 with a assembly date of TO630 MQ. Ironically I now own a 67 L78 Chevelle built 7C. The block is again a 323 cast date F 8 7 with a assembly date of TO705 EX. In the earlier versions of Colvins book By The Numbers he stated this was highly unlikely, however this has been revised to state 323 block were installed in late built cars.
