I am thinking of buying a 383 shortblock from RPM in tennessee. It doesnt look like a bad deal but has anyone dealt with them before???

I have dealt with Daryl White there a couple of times for rotating assemblies and he is a great guy. I think you will be quite pleased with them. [img]graemlins/thumbsup.gif[/img]

Do you not have an experienced engine builder in your area? After the fiasco with the 388 in my nova (multiple trips to the machine shop...ended up being multiple problems that was not the machine shops fault), I couldn't imagine how much more of a headache it would have been if it was a mail order engine. I would much rather use a small local shop who's business depends on quality, not quantity...even if it costs a little more.
