Is it true SBC's have a lean tendency on #'s 3-5 and back in the day one trick was to cut a notch in the top of the manifold to balance the air/fuel to both sides of the engine?

68 Z/28, grotto blue, protect-o-plate

hmmm... they way I remember it was 5-7 with a single plane manifold? and someone made a manifold with a passage from 7-8 cuase 5 stole all of 7's air?

I do remember the notched plenum divider on a dp, but not why...

That was the old Holley Z single plane intake that had the long port between runners 7 and 8 to balance them out..
