I know this isn't Camaro related, but I'll ask anyway. I have a '95 Chevy pick-up with a 4.3?V6 and a 700R4 with close to 148,000 nearly trouble free miles on it. Back to the trans...I've had no problems and done nothing to it since it was new. Last Friday it was fine, but when I went out that night it acted like the motor was revving much more than normal for the acceretaion, as if something wasn't hooking up...I think overdrive was gone too...still drivable, but acting different. That was the only incident until yesterday coming home from work. It was fine this morning and did it again on the way home. If it has a passing gear, which it usually seems to have, it's not working either during the times it acted up. I haven't heard any noise or noriced any slippage, just slow acceleration in a higher than normal RPM range and the lack of OD and a passing gear. Any ideas?

Have you checked the tranny fluid? That's one of the first signs of low fluid... otherwise, the tranny probably needs a rebuild...

I did, and the fluid level was good. I hope it doesn't need a rebuild.

maybe change the fluid and filter. if you haven't ever even had to look at the tranny, maybe it has never been changed.

Does the fluid smelled burnt? You can compare with new fluid smell. Burnt=bad.

It's even funnier than I imagined...I called a parts store and found out it's either a L60 or a L80, depending on the amount of pan bolts. I'll count them in the morning. Thanks for the help...this is a good site.
