Engine ID

Before I decided to purchase a different engine for my car, I figured I should ensure that the one it has isn't original. Thus, I took a picture of the pad and got this. What is going on here?Click image for larger version

You have a 350 ci/ 160 hp block from a '75-77 truck, assembled on 7 Feb (75, 76, or 77) in the Flint engine plant.

It also appears that the VIN for the vehicle was stamped over the eng app code by someone...

It was originally an RPO-LS9 350 installed in a 1977 Chevrolet G30-Series Van at the Lordstown assembly plant.

Or ... another 4" bore 4-bolt main 350 from the 70's - as it is now
