68 camaro frame mounts

68 i got had a previous bbc in it per previous owner but i cannot confirm it as he sold me the car as a roller. i am putting a 350, however i cannot tell the difference between the small block and big block motor frame mounts even looking at pictures from catalogs or computer, If i put the small block in and its big block frame mounts how much problems would i see, does this raise the motor up higher ? or move the motor over any? Just wondering before i put it in i dont waste my time. Thank you

Re: 68 camaro frame mounts

my 68 was an original BB car with 4 speed and now has a SB. 4 speed it has no power steering or AC. it does have a 11" brake booster.
the only problem I had was with the hooker super comp. headers. I had to dimple one tube for the idler arm and one tube for the pitman arm
this is using the BB frame and transmission mount

It all depends on what has already been changed. Yes, you can do it, but I would advise you not to.

What big block stuff do you have ? You will have to use things such as Radiator shroud, Z-bar (if four speed) for a Big Block.

The engine frame mounts and transmission move the engine 1/2" to the passenger side and 3/4" forward from the small blocks location.

The biggest problem may or may not be the headers.

TJS69 not sure if you are repling to my comments or back to flat tire comments, but mine is the same as above, just need to know how to determine if the frame mounts are bbc or sbc and yes or no on issues putting a sbc on bbc mounts, Thank you

SBC mounts are usually about the same in height. For a BBC the drivers side mount is taller.
