Question

I've finally found the cause of the "noise" when accelerating hard. Two broken motor mounts. My question is: can anyone tell me if motor mounts can be replaced without pulling the motor out? It's a 327 CuIn, 210 HP with auto trans.
Help very much appreciated.

Sure you can, it is just a bit of a tight squeeze. Both of them were broken? Make sure you didn't damage the bell housing, that would be the only thing left keeping the motor from flipping over when you hit the gas.

Thanks boodlefoof. One side is broken for sure, the other is questionable. The bell housing looks intact. The cables on the mounts probably saved it. Does anyone know a source for new mounts? Thanks.

National Parts Depot 352-861-8700 has them. Make sure you get the right ones. I think 67 and 68 standard V-8's with power steering are different than later models (and the Z28's) because the p/s pump bracket bolts under the drivers side mount. Good luck!

Yes, there are three old ones and one newer one so be sure and get the right pair. pdq67

I put in some poly mounts and they are great. Got them from Summit, by Energy Suspension.
