Guys It has been a while since I have installed a rear seal in a smallblock and I was wandering or hoping I should say ,If there is anyone out there that has a good detailed picture of the way the seal faces in the cap in relation to the front of the engine,that is which way the lip goes ,to the front or the rear,any help Thanks Camaro BOB

The "flappy" end of the seal goes to the front.

And you might want to offset the ends about a quarter of an inch and daub a small bit of sealer on them carefully as well as just a smidge in each groove behind them, then place them, so they are sealed about as good as you can get them sealed.

Try not to get any daub on the flappy's themselves.... But rather a daub of clean oil so they don't start completely dry..
