I need to convert my 67 from a short to long pump. I already have access to the long crank and water pump pulleys. I need to re-bracket the alternator and P/S pump.

What recommendations does anyone have ? I do have headers and accessory holes in the heads. I would like to keep the alternator on driver side, is this possible ?

I too did the same conversion on my 67 but I had to move the alternator up high on the passenger side. I actually think it looks better there. Then just go to ebay and do a search for long water pump power steering bracket. Thats what I did and it turned out great. Even got nicer looking chrome brackets really cheap. Just an idea...

I see the passenger side brackets are readily available.

What did you do with the alternator wiring. I was thinking about running new wires across the front and then over to the pass side alternator. My front light wiring is RS so I will need to work it in with the existing harness.

For my alternator wiring I ran it straight back to the firewall with my temp sensor wiring.

I went to a long pump and moved the alt.

Got a bracket like this ..

and a chrome one wire alt..

Looks like this..

or got to sig for more.

With the one wire alt I ran a 4 gauge from the back of the alt down to the starter bat pos and looks-works great.
