Ok, Here is the latest. After discovering that I had a broken inner spring, I removed my rockers so I could find the lift of my cam. This cam was in the shortblock I bought and I never knew what it was. Anyway after checking the lift of the lobes on all cylinders with the pushrods in and a dial indicator I found that the cams seems to have alot of ware. On the intake side it varies form .468 to 434, and on the exhaust its 452 to 421. these # have mutliplies by 1.52 The tech guy at Comp said I should have no more than .004 differance between lobes.

Sounds like new cam time. Here is my combo:

327 small journal
forged flat top pistons
vortec heads 195- 160 stainless valves
RPM air gap
edelbrock 600 cfm carb
M 20
3.08 rear but going to 3.56 or 3.73 someday

The Comp guy recommended a XE 262 H -

What do you guys think.

It's a driver but I want it to have a bumpy idle and I want it to run...

I agree with Comp. You DCR would be 8.0:1 with the XE262H.

Another choice would be the Isky 270 Megacam. Specs are 270* advertised, 221* @ .050, .465 lift, 108* LSA. Your DCR would be 7.9:1 with this cam.

The Isky would make more mid-range with a rougher idle and a softer low end. It would be more sensitive to gear ratio and would work better with a 3.73+ gear IMO.

Eric, thanks for your imput. I think I'm leaning toword the 262. I also really like the tech support that Comp offers!
