Getting ready to replace the exhaust system on my 67 Coupe.

If you had to do it all over again would you go with the:

Flowmaster 17104k - two pipes into one muffler crossover (I think it's called) exiting out the rear; or

Flowmaster 17129 - two 40 series mufflers exiting behind the rear wheels.

Thanks much for your opinions.

He, He!!

As many "Cop-calling" long, continuous glasspacks welded together as I could get under the sucker.. Down both sides and crossways!!

And I am as serious as a heart attack!!

That way I would have a true, 2.5", straight thru exhaust system!!

BUT I don't know how LOUD the setup would be with my 496???

Might still have to put header inserts in her to quiet her down more???

My two, 18" and 12", 2.5" turbo's down each side only have 10,000 miles or so on them but they fit my 406 SB's Hooker headers so I may not reuse them???

I initially bought the American Thunder 17104 system and I will be replacing it soon with the 17129 system. Although the 17104 system looked / fit great I wasn't overly enthused about the tailpipes and how they exit the rear of the car. I prefer to have the pipes exit behind the rear wheels and maintain a little more of a stock look. Just my .02.

Here's what I have:
1-5/8" Long tube headers
Flowmaster Force II system (crossover muffler)
3" Two exhaust cutouts positioned after H-Pipe

Here's what I would like to do:
1-5/8" Mid-length headers (more starter clearance)
3" X-Pipe
3" Exhaust Cutouts
Pipe Then reduced for Force II system

This should produce a good sound, and you can still open it up for the track. The best of both worlds!
