If you decide to build a Pontiac engine that really runs hard, convert it over to BBC rods so the bottom end will hold together. The stock Pontiac rods were incredibly heavy and they weren't made of a good material either.
The Ram air 4 heads I think were the best, but they are very hard to find in good condition for a decent price these days. The Edelbrock heads were supposed to be close copies of the Ram Air heads and should have plenty of meat for porting, or so I am told.
I like them old Pontiac motors . . .
