I got some headers from a friend they are pretty nice I will buy new ones later.....but I was wondering if u guys could help me out on how much it would be for a shop to put them in or would it just be easier to put them in myself or would it be a pretty big job......I am 17 with a 68 Camaro rs with a 327 no ac not much clearence either??

Put them on yourself. It will be good experience and it isn't really a tough job. Depending on the headers, the right side MIGHT go in from the top but the left side will probably have to go in from the bottom with the motor raised up. Just guessing.

I would also say do it yourself. Toby Keen is right on the money aobut having to raise the engine. I have to do that on my '72 for both sides. The experience you gain by doing it yourself will be worth the money saved and time expended.

I didn't really have to raise the engine on mine. About the only thing I had to do was massage the the #3 cylinder tube to get it to fit by the steering box. By all means go for it yourself, that's how I've learned is just by jumping in and doing it. Good luck.

I put a new set on a few weeks ago on my 67. I put it on jackstanda all around and put in passenger side from top and driver side from bottom. My 15 yr old son did most of it so he can start learning as it will be his car in the near future. It took about an hour. Like already mentioned do it yourself, save some $$ and gain some experience.
