Can anyone please tell me if the casting # of a 67 and 68 camaro could be the same and if so what it is? The engine casting #'s in question would be for a 396/325hp. Thanks

From the information available to me the 68 and 69 396 could share the same block casting number, but not the 67 and 68. The heads however can share casting numbers depending on their style.

67 396s used a 406 casting until late in the year (june July) Then there were some 323 castings that went on into the 68 model year. There are some documented camaros and chevelles with these blocks.

I have it opposite of green z

1967 Camaro 396 block - casting # 3902406 (only in 67)

1968 Camaro 396 block - casting # 3916323 (very remote chance in 67 but only if is was a late built car.)
