Anyone know which air cleaner base I need to fit the Speed Demon 750 with vacuum advance and electric choke?

This is so much fun I can't believe it's legal.

Any. Even the 1.5" drop base works from K&N.

Did you have to modify the base to clear the electric choke rod?

This is so much fun I can't believe it's legal.

Yes you do. It has to be notched so the choke rod does not hang. I am not sure if you can use any base, but mine is a swap-meet buy and I just had to notch a small section and bend it out of the way and it works fine

Kinda funny how the first two posts are from users who joined Jan 2002 and the next two post are from users who joined in Oct 2003

Re: Air Cleaner base to fit Demon

Hey Midlife,

I am having the same problems..I have a 750 demon with an electric choke. Let me know what you find out and I will let you know what I find. I already bought the X-Stream K&N top, but need to get a base and air filter element.

I use the stock open element a/c base for the Holley and it fits both my Holley and Demon vacumn and electric chokes. They both will clear stock hoods. I have added the upper section to complete cowl hood. Has to be for a Holley carb,, the QJet will not work.

Re: Air Cleaner base to fit Demon

Most standard air cleaner bases can be modified to clear the choke linkage. Otherwise you can get a complete air cleaner assembly from Barry Grant that will clear the linkage.
