any of the cams mentioned (including the one you're running) could probably benefit from a slightly looser than stock converter.

Also, swapping from those 76cc heads is going to boost your compression considerably and I don't know if you could get by on pump gas with either of those hydro rollers if you're running over 11:1 compression if that is a concern.

Anyway, all that aside I'd say go with the second cam. It should give you a decent idle and good power from just a bit over idle through redline. The first cam would be nice as well though. Time for a tire barbeque! Good luck.

I have the first cam you mentioned(224/230) and it has a killer sound to it. I get 8" vac at 5-600 rpm and 12" at 800rpm. I think you'll be happy with it It's the comp cams 08-423-8/ xr276hr-10grind

I just put the engine in last week and i'm waiting on a driveshaft. So, no #'s yet
I will say that it sounds killer coming straight out of 3" collectors from 1 3/4 primary tubes. Nice healthy lope, instant throttle response. I think it's perfect in the vacuum respect. The idle's not too high for sufficient vac.
