Yes, the 4 speed in the 68 is a Saginaw. So now I want to find a Muncie or BW T-10 to swap in. What do I need to look for/avoid, and how much am I looking at spending? I realize with the desirability of the Muncies that they are out of my reach, so the BW is more realistic. But, my luck might change!!!

Both tannies BW and muncie are good choices for the Camaro. The Sagiballs is a loser. The only changes are a new shifter. Try trannie rebuilders for the BW or muncie. Hurst for a new shifter.

76 (?),
There is nothing wrong with the Saginaw transmission unless you are planning a very massive power increase. There are a "bazillion" of them out there running just fine and it will last just as long as a Muncie in a street application. Save your money and use it for something more important.
Just my humble opinion,
