Hey everyone,

I am getting ready to replace my rearmain seal on my 77 Z28.

The first question is what are the torque specs on the rear main cap?

Second do I need to pull the tranny? It looks like I can change it without doing anything but lifting the motor up.

I appreciate any and all help.

Thanks,
Steve

You shouldn't need to pull the tranny.

Not sure if the TQ spec on a '77 is the same as a 68 but -- my 68 chassis service manual says 80# for the rear main cap and 65# for the oil pump.
