I would like to get a new pulley set for the new engine going in my 67 with long water pump. Do I need a 2 or 3 groove crank pulley for a car with power steering and without air conditioning? Also, is the alt pulley a 1 or 2 groove? Thanks in advance

assuming a small block, stock pulleys were a double lower, with an add-on third for the power steer..... never mind...long water pump?

Think I'll sit back and let someone with a '69 or someone who's put a long pump in an early car answer this.

My 69 with 307, PS, and no AC, long WP had (still does!) a two groove crank pulley, single groove Alt. pulley. The inner groove on the crank pulley runs the PS - the outer groove runs the WP and the Alt.

Thanks BPOS, That's what I thought but I wanted to make sure before I called Jegs.

Re: 2 or 3 groove crank pulley

OK... I'm going around in circles trying to figure out the pulleys on my 350.

I've looked for pictures but none are satisfactory in showing the different pulleys that I need to see.

350 with long water pump, pass. side alternator and power steering. The crank pulley is a 2V obviously, which will have a belt around the Alt, the WP and the front crank pulley groove. But the WP pulley is a 1V.
It looks like there will be a super short belt on the crank-to-PS pump pulley. That can't be right. Or is it?

Don't I need a 2V water pump pulley and use the rear groove for the PS pump? The front groove (or single groove WP pulley I currently have) lines up with the front crank groove and Alt. pulley just fine. Shouldn't there be a rear second groove on the WP pulley to run the PS pump?

Re: 2 or 3 groove crank pulley

I dunno about the crank pulley on no 69's... but the super short pulley from only the crank to the ps pump is correct.
