I have a 69 convertible with a 307 motor. I cant seem to find the throttle rod in all of the boxes of parts. Does a place like Autozone or Kragen have a replacement or do I need to by one from the resto houses? Has anyone made their own?

I'm pretty sure that you can't get them at Autozone. I knew a guy that was looking for one and he could not find one locally or even find the right stuff to easily make one. I've since seen them for sale at one of the big resto places. Can't remember exactly which company had them, but I'm thinking it was either Classic Industries or Rick's.

I actually think I've seen universal throttle rods packaged by "Help" at kragen and pep boys. Most have a wall of "Help" products with all kinds of items you wouldn't think a parts store would have.

If not, try the local pick and pull or salvage yard. Talk to the counter help as they usually have boxes of this kind of part and you don't have to find one on a car.

No place like Autozone or Kragens will carry them. My bet would be a resto catalog. Be aware that as soon as you order it, it arrives, and it is installed, your other one will turn up.
