I have a 67 camaro with 4.11 gears and a 500 horsepower 355. Currently I have a turbo 350 auto but I want to switch to a 6 spd. Can the t-56 transmission handle 500 horsepower or is there another transmission I need to find?
The Viper T56 can, you will need to change the input shaft though. I've seen local guys here push 500+ through a T56 in a 98 Camaro. They are rated at 450, but i feel they would handle 500. Email me when you need to swap it, as i make an install kit for 1st gen cars.
I broke it. It doesn't want to go into second gear anymore and I don't know how to fix it. The only trans that I had was the turbo 350. I just want to know if it was a bad tranny or if it can't handle the power.
can enybody give me eny info on who makes a kit to install a t-56 into a 67 camaro. This would help me out alot, and would be greatly appreciated.I already have the trans. all I need is the adaptor kit.(bell housing, hyd. through out bearing, crossmember)
