What was the warranty period on first generation Camaro drive trains?
I have a CE8N stamped block which is approx. serial number 30500 and I am trying to figure out if this is correct?
The date codes for the heads etc. match the car suggesting it was a short block replacement in my 68 Z/28 and the block is a 1969 3970010 casting.
I know the CE stamping ran from 20000 to 50000 but over what time span?
Thanks

No such thing as a correct date for a warranty engine. The warranty or over the counter service engines and transmissions could have been cast and assembled either before or after the cars build date. The warranty may have been for 3 years but I am sure someone will correct me if I am wrong

5/50 Powertrain Warranty; CE8 indicates that the replacement short block was built during calendar year 1968.
