We are getting ready to assemble the 396 for my brothers 68 Camaro. I am thinking Clevite 77 P series bearings. I am thinking 1/2 grooved bearing for the mains. Any thoughts, problems??

Thanks, Harlan.

Harlan,
Chevy bottom ends are pretty bullet proof. Just get the stock Clevite bearings (which are half grooved) and keep on getting it.

Thanks Bill,

I was thinking the p series was the basic stock bearing? If not, do you know what they call them?

Thanks, Harlan

King Alecular bearings are good ones too! Try Powerhouse for them.. Good prices too, imho..
