It's easy from here. Remove the lock bolt and slide the pin out. Push your axels in to allow the c-clip to be removed. Best way to get the c-clips is with a magnet but they can be coaxed off with a screwdriver. After the c-clips are off slide out the axels, do your thing with the bearings and reverse the procedure. The pin retaining bolt should be torqued to 20 lb ft.

Good luck,

John

A word of caution when the cross pin is out don't move anything or the spiders will roll out of position and you will not be happy.

When you reinstal the retaining bolt put a little blue Lock Tight on it. Here is a little bad news for you. If your axle bearing is bad then your axle may also be bad. The bearing runs directly on the axle and they usualy go bad together. Don't try to put a new bearing on a bad axle.

Cool

thanks for the info on the axles. One axle has a nice half inch groove about sixteenth of in. deep. Other axle looks ok.Auto parts showed me a bearing that sits farther out on the 3rd member so it rides on a clean ungrooved part of the axle. replace axle or what. Friend of mine has a couple of axles for $20.00 each. beats price of brand new but are they dependable I don't Know !!!!

I have used the bearings you mentioned a few times. They tend to leak oil so be carefull how you install them. The biggest problem I have had with them is the outer lip on the seal tries to roll in when I put the axle in. Be sure you lube the seal first and watch it closely when you put in the axle. $20 is cheap for a axle. You may want to get them and put them up for later.
