First off, to all of those spelling Camaro 'camero' learn how to spell it correctly please.

Secondly, I am trying to remove my transmission and cannot get the crossmember out of my way. Everything is unbolted but I just cant get the transmission out. Do I attempt to pull the front of the tranny down so I can bring it out forward with the crossmember still in place or is there a trick to getting the crossmember out that will allow me to simply lower the tranny? (small block - TH350 car)

Jack the tranny up a little to get it off the cross member. Then spin the cross member (pull on one corner and push on the other) and it will come out. You have to get it just right and might have to tap it with a hammer. I don't think you can get the tranny out with the crossmember and engine still in the car. One has to come out.

I did as X77 said jacked the tranny up till it contacted the bottom of the tunnel then pulled forward on the drivers side and had to hit the pass. side aft with a rubber mallet. Try not to be too critical of spelling. We're here having fun and learning.
