Just got my new "open element" air cleaner for my 327 and it won't fit. The problem is the electric choke interferes with the base. Any suggestions on how to make it fit or on an alternative open air cleaner. It is an "original equipment" air cleaner.

68 convertible, Grotto blue, 327 TH350,3.08 diff

Sounds like a spacer is in order, go to a speed shop, they should have one...good luck

Had the same problem. For the air cleaner, either a 1/2" spacer, or, if you check edelbrock.com, they sell an air cleaner that is taller, specifically to clear the choke.

You'll probably also see that the fuel line is hard into the air cleaner base. Here's the solution:
