I am looking for ZZ430 type Valve Covers (Black less the ZZ430) and an air cleaner to match. Does anyone know where I can find them?

I would start with Summit and Jegs catalogs. Also most aftermarket head manufactures offer a valve cover. Such as World, Dart, AFR, Trickflow.

Hey, thanks but I definetly want the BLACK like the ZZ430 not the aluminum. I guess I will check with the local GM performance dealer tomorrow (Galles Chevrolet perhaps you have heard of it).
Click, more info on that air cleaner, please.

MoeSS396, Thanks, those just might fill the bill. I'm going for the Darth Vader look if you know what I mean. Black block, leave the aluminum heads, intake and water pump as is and maybe some colored fittings. Billet pulleys. Very little chrome. Braided lines, gm hoses. I just gotta be different. LOL
What do you think?

My valve covers are black.....Everything is BLACK.....I had them coated with a heat dissapative black coating.

GM will only provide them in a raw unmodified form. And I havent seen an air cleaner that would really "match"....well I havent YET.

69RS/SS 350,
I recently dropped a ZZ502 in my '68SS and as you may know they come with the black aluminum valve covers. I also wanted to stick with the same "scheme" so I ordered the exact air cleaner that was mentioned from Summit. The Black one with the red bowtie and "CHEVROLET" on it. Looks GOOD! And pretty good quality also. http://store.summitracing.com/partdetail.asp?part=29962

They also have matching valve covers http://store.summitracing.com/partdetail.asp?part=29963 although I can't vouch for the look or quality of them.

I've gotten ALOT of compliments on the looks of the entire package already and have only had it to a half dozen or so car show/cruises. If I still had a site to link a picture of my engine to, I'd show you, but...If you want a pic, or if someone wants to put a pic of it on their site for me to link to, list your E-mail address or shoot me an E-mail.

Chacane67 - what type of finish did you use? I just bought the ones with the logo and need to finish them. Also, what pcv arrangement do you have?

Rick D, whats goin on? As for the finish, I used a local company, 'Olympic Coatings', they have a heat dissapative coating that helps shed heat from aluminum. Kinda of expensive, but I did the Alt housing, the intake manifold, valve covers and the P/S pump housing.

But I will tell you what finish I like better....Krylon 1613 semi-flat black. At $2.69 a can, you cant beat it. The finish is extremely durable and wont absorb oils or gas.

PCV......uhmmmm so far just two 1.375" breathers.
http://64.226.148.152/main/product/d...=82&toolbar=16

Although I would order the 4" length pair.

No PCV as of yet, but I have been considering it. I have both breathers at the forward end of the covers and will most likely add the PCV the the rear pad. I had to chuck the covers up in the Bridgeport to cut the holes parallel. It took some time but the holes were a very light press fit which made it eaiser to weld and to make the weld look more appealing.
