What is the best heads to use on a moderate 350? I am not looking for tons of horsepower, just a good running engine. I would prefer a set with the large valves, but what size combustion chamber should I go with to run on pump gas? Can anyone give me suggestions and casting numbers? Thanks.

Yeah, I am familiar with the vortec, but with costs being a concern, I am not considering them. That requires a new intake. I can do the liners and valve grinding myself, so all I would have to have done is the hardened seats...so with that in mind, what heat is best?

Look for a set of casting #3927186 double humps with accessory holes. 64 cc chamber, usually 1.94 intakes, some had 2.02's. I think there are other equivalent heads but I'm not sure of the casting #'s.

Even with the cost of a new intake, the vortec is hard to beat for the money.
