What problems will I have if I remove the smog pump on a 88' 305 efi? Will I need to reconfigure the computer?

It's not worth it. They spin very freely.

Check with your local and state laws about emmission items before removing them. Spames is correct, for a street cruiser there is no resistance if everything is operating properly.
