Does anyone know a place to buy just bearings for the muncie M-20? Are there timken replacement bearings available? Also, how noisy will the tranny be if there is slight pitting of the gears? Thanks

I got mine at a local bearing supplier. Pull the bearings out and take them to a bearing supplier, they should be able to duplicate them. This is the cheapest way to go and you get the same bearings.

Motion Industries, Kaman Industrial Technologies, and Applied Industrial Technologies will carry many of the bearings you are looking for.

Timken owns the small inch-series tapered roller bearing market. Stick with them. They make a very good product.

Be sure to bring in the cup and cone for the correct match up. In some applications the part is an automotive-only part and the distributor may not have it on the shelf. They can order it (usually) from the manufacturer but it may take a few days for shipping.
