I have been trying to identify a pair of heads but can't seem to find the number. Any body care to take a shot at these numbers. Both heads have 888452C cast in them one has a date of B-9-6 the other says M-3-05?? these are early chevy small block heads with no accessory bolt holes. Also the block is stamped T1123MM (67 327 W/PG) on the front pad and the block casting number is 3903352 Date K-18-6 Could be 67 Camaro. The heads are on this motor but don't know if they've been there from the start.
Thanks
Jim

The number is 3884520. They are listed as 60-67 283 and 62-67 327. With 60cc chambers. The dates could be right but that is quite time spread between the 2 castings.

Thanks oger
The last digit on these heads is definately a C not a 0. I thought it was a bad casting until I looked at the second head. To be this far apart in date and stil have a zero that looks like a C is odd to say the least. I know it should be a zero, never seen a head with a letter included in the number. Anyway, thanks for the reply.

I'm sorry, but that mortec site is a joke. There are quite a few incorrect listings on that site.

3884520 heads are for 1966 and 1967 model year only. Their original application was:

1966-67 Full size, Chevelle, Nova 283/195hp and 220hp

Jim,

Just a side note on the block. that casting number is the last year of the small journals, easy to make a little 302 out of it with a 283 crank. It should be drilled for both bolt pattern starters so you can use either size flywheel on it. It also should have both clutch ball sud holes in the side of the block so you can put it itnto a Chevy II with a four speed if you ever need to. Unfortnuately it has the cannister oil filter, so you'll want to change it over to the spin on style with an adapter.
