Yes, vortecs will need to be watched for lift.
AND this means matching the machining operation that cuts both the spring pocket O.D. and I.D. as well as the guide height so that the retainer and valve seal fits OK at max. lift and such!!!
PS., my average 9.5 to 1 CR. 406 SB with just double-hump heads, headers, M-20, 3.31's and about 26.5" tall tires did not run well at all until above 2500 or so rpm SO please match these to whatever cam you choose to run or you may find that it is a pain!!
Oh, my cam was a cheap RV, hydraulic type, 280/230, .480" lift jobber!!!
