has anyone ever heard of this before? i recently bought an 87 iroc with a 5.7 tuned port injection stamped on the rear bumper and the emission sticker states 5.7. however the engine code says f which signifies a 5.0. any answers?

theres no no. on the flat surface of the block in front of the head. just like the 350 4 bolt main i'm installing in another camaro. cant see the casting no. on the rear of block either.?

Mid to Upper 80's Camaros that were sold in California would have been 5.0's maybe the emblem was changed , or maybe the block has been rebuilt and decked thus eliminating the stamp off the front pad. Do a search on Front pads there are some posts on how to use a mild acid solution to bring the numbers back out ,
