Question

Is anyone running a Bill Mitchell/World Products
I'm looking at either building a 415 or a 427 small block. I cant decide on aluminm block or cast iron. Does anyone know about their products? How bout their ctate engines? With the warrenty they have on them AI might be better going turnkey and be done with it.
Thanks,
Mike

No personal experience with 'em but if you do a site search here you'll find some warranty horror stories.

Do a search for Mike Hartwell's horror story... Here and over on Big Brother's site..

NOT good at all.. I would strongly spec. the wanted motor AND then double check it when I got it.. JMHO...

I remember that, it was a really crappy deal. However, I that can't be the norm. No company could stay in business if their product and support were that bad.

On a side note, I'd suggest also calling Scott Shafiroff and asking him about one of his big inch small blocks. Bill Mitchell is VERY inflexible, but Shafiroff will do whatever you want, and the name is just as big (if that's what you're after).

there's also the possibility of getting all the parts from World- and upgrading a few of the cheaper parts they use- and getting it screwed together at a local machine shop. sure, you might lose the warranty, but at least you'd be reasonably sure someone took the time ot double check everything. it might cost a bit more than having some workers slam it together at World, but in the end, would probably be better.

you don't plan sincerity.
you have to make it up on the spot.

wanna hear about 20 years ago when i was too smart to know any better?

good recommendation on shafiroff, they really know thier stuff, and they will go to great lengths helping you out on the phone as well. my buddy built a 400 with the advice and recommendations they gave him, and his motor made almost exactly what they said it would (625 horse), based on one of thier crate motors. they are very helpful, and probably the best out there, arguably. and if you really want the bad boy, they have thier new 472" smallblock, can you say hellyeah
