We are getting ready to assemble a 402 BB for my brothers 68 Conv. Camaro 4 spd. Planning on using a Lunati 00026 cam. I was wondering how this cam will be. Will it run brakes? I think about 10.25 to 1 comp. I got the cam cheap, but if it's going to be a PITA, I'll go with something else. This car will be a street playtoy, probally no track time. Any opinions???

I checked the specs on this cam and it doesn't look too wild for a street car. It's going to be a little lumpy at idle (personally I like this), but I put a hydraulic roller cam with more duration in my friend's 69 Chevelle and the power brakes still work fine.

Please consider a good old Isky 280 Mega cam on 108 LCA.

280/232, 108, .565" lift!

And if a little smoother idle is wanted, then get the same cam on 110 LCA that they also sell.

I figure both are ground straight up so you have to set the ICA at installation time if not mistaken??

Thanks for thr replies! The machinist thinks the cam will be ok, looks like we'll go for it. I think my brother will like the lumpy idle, I was a little concerned about the vacuum for the brakes.

Thanks again!
