The Z28 I am considering buying has headers and the stock exhaust with the chrome tips. I would like to put flowmasters and keep the chrome tips. Are there kits available? Recommendations? Thanks!

I used the Flowmaster/American Thunder kit on my 68 Camaro. They are very easy to put on. For the rear exit it takes a couple more pieces of pipe. Mine come out behind the rear tire and point down. Some people get annoyed if you start the car on a dirt or gravel driveway but thats the breaks.

On this topic, I am upgrading from exhaust manifolds to headers. I have a mild 327 (262XE cam). I was going to add hooker headers (coated) and flowmasters. Since I have a convertible I am limited to 2"1/4 throughout. What size headers would be best? I was thinking 1"5/8. Which flowmasters are the best QUIET ones? I am looking for a mild sound, yet a bit of flowmaster performance. Thx in advance.

For a mild 327 a 1.5" tube header will work best for the RPM range of your cam. As for the flows get some Delta flow 50 series. Sounds great with very little interior noise.
