On an HEI cap am I correct in placing the #1 wire 2 terminals clockwise from the 12volt and tach hookup at the in cap coil

Read BULLHEIMERS comments for some jokes.

This next picture you will see the first wire position clockwise after coil house outlet is where number one goes. The rotation is clockwise.

clash you are right,if you looked at a
GM distributor the cover that holds the plug wires on is numbered 1 two from coil.
plus your pointing to #1 plug.
