my powerglide is strange. it has a shift kit in it (was there when i got it) i just put it on the road this week and it shifts funny. the 1st to 2nd is slushy, but when it down shifts it is sharp and sometimes barks the tires. this is backwards, anyone have any idea's?
I'm afraid I'm not an expert on glides. However, detent / modulated down-shifts are more firm by design. During modulated / detent down shifts, fluid pressures are raised and accumulator action is reduced. If the 1-2 shift isn't up to par, then other adjustments might be necessary. Hopefully there is someone out there with more experience on the PG that can help.
