As I stated in another post, I thought my fuel pump was going bad and was wondering which pump to get. Well, as it turns out the pump is fine. I checked and the fuel is staying in the line as it is supposed to and the carb float chambers are staying full also.

I discovered a technique on starting mine. I have the Edelbrock 600CFM with electric choke. Before I turn the key to the on position I give the pedal 2 slow full pumps. Then I turn the key on and give it one small pump just to set the choke. Presto!! It starts with just a bump of the starter.

Thats how I was taught to start a carbureted car. Most of the time after it has been sitting for a while. I learned the hard way when I first got my car and flooded my carb.
