Iím planning on swapping from steel stamped rocker arms to aluminum roller rockers. I have a solid lift cam in a 396 bbc. Two questions: will I need to change push rods and what do I set the valve lash at? I do not know what cam is in it.

Thumbs up

If new arms are of the same ratio as the OE arms, OE pushrod length would be good. I'd probably install chromoly pushrods.

If you have the cam card from camshaft manufacturer, read it. The card will have the lash on it. If no card, then measure & record the present lash before the swapout. Add up the intake side & exhaust side respectfully, and average them out for a new setting. If you end up with an odd number, subtract .001" to make it an even number. I have yet to read an odd number for a lash setting.
