I have a 81 Z with no motor and I have a 78 chev van with a 454 ,I want to install it .I have done it before with a trans am . I am curious about the motor mounts and the exaust manifolds ,pulling the mounts was ****ty on the t.a. not loooking forward to that again .and I am not sure about the pipe connecting to the manifold ,is it different then the small block .I think on the t.a. I used ones off a 78 half ton .but not sure was about 10 years ago .Any way got a great deal on the motor and car .will sure be happy to get it together .Also have a 74 vega with the can am package on it .

The small block frame mounts work fine and allow for 2.25 inch headers with minimal clearancing. This is for a car without AC.

You will probably run into hood clearance issues with any intake other than the LS5 or Torker II.

WildBill is correct. I had to use a cowl hood to clear the Team G manifold and Demon carb. Besides
a cowl hood looks pretty good on a second gen.

In addition, you can use the stock clamshell motor mounts.
