I finally have some money saved up for the building of my 350, but don't know which diretion to go in. I want it to run on pump gas, and get the most power for the money. I want this motor to be reliable, but get out money wise as good as i can. I've been looking at the pro lighting cast iron heads 50cc combustion chamber heads. If i specify my cam lift, i can get them built for 879.95 for a pair, or i can buy them bare for 274.95 each. Would the stock crank and rods in my 350 be able to handle the pressure? If so i will keep it a 350, but need help on what kind of a cam and pistons to put in it. If the crank could stay and the rods could'nt what size of rods would be better 5.7 or 6.0. I want the cam that would give me better results in the hp and torque range, same with the pistons. If the crank and rods won't stand the pressure, i'll probably turn it into a 383, but would like the stock crank and rods to work. Thanks for the help.

I recommend that you go over to the ROSS Racing pistons site and play with their Static Compression Ratio Caculator program and then reconsider a 50 cc chambered head on a 350 motor..

Please use a stock, "down in the hole" of .025" and whatever thickness headgasket you want to use to obtain a decent quench number.. I use -4 cc's for four valve notch, flat-top pistons but you may have to use someting like -12 cc's if yours are four valve notch, dished???

I agree with pdq67 a 50cc head on a 350 is not going to be pump gas friendly.
