people have told me that they fit (barely) and others say they have to ding the driver's side header a little. Doug's headers is coming out with some better fitting headers that are supposed to really fit nicely even with power steering. They should be out in a month.

Mine went in my 67 without modification to the headers. The left header had to come up from underneath after I removed the gear box. But once in, it cleared the gear box with no problem. BTW, I have Hooker competion series.

The only problem is that the engine sets back 1in on a 69 this appears to be the problem they are made for 68 and 67 but not a 69.

I'M HAVING THIS PROBLEM RIGHT NOW WITH MY 69 427 CAR. I HAVE HOOKER SUPER COMP HEADERS WITH 2 1/8 PRIMARY TUBES, AND I'M LACKING ALMOST 3/4 OF AN INCH TO EVEN COME CLOSE TO MAKING THIS WORK. IF ANYONE HAS ANY SUGGESTIONS I'M ALL EARS. THANKS BRIAN

You just saved me trying a set of Hookers. Do you have the correct BB frame mounts? I wonder if the headers were made for cars that used SB frame mounts? I have tried Thorleys and Sandersons and they fit about as bad as the your Hookers

I have Hooker super comps in a 69 with a 502 and they fit but the car does not have P/S.

I also have a 69 427 with P/S and just installed Thorley headers and they fit with a little work. Thorley told me it was VERY important to use new GM motor mounts as some repros would not work. Hope this helps.

I hope you are right about the motor mounts I can't believe that a motor mount can make a difference of over an inch. If you take out the steering box and put the header on and measure the clearence you need it figures out that # 3 tube is 1 inch too close to the steering box

I HAVE ENERGY SUSPESION MOTOR MOUNTS ON MY 427 69 CAMARO , THEY MAKE TWO DIFFERENT HEIGHTS OF THESE MOUNTS. I HAVE THE LOWER OF THE TWO, I DON'T KNOW IF THIS MAKES MUCH DIFFERENCE.

FROM AS NEAR AS I CAN TELL, THEIR IS ABOUT 3/4 OF AN INCH DIFFERENCE IN WIDTH BETWEEN A MANUAL BOX AND A POWER BOX. MY CAR IS AN ORIGINAL BIG BLOCK CAR SO I WOULD ASSUME THE FRAME MOUNTS ARE CORRECT.
